Eighth Grade Holocaust Unit
Through our research from the United States Holocaust Museum Website, Voices of the Holocaust and many other non-fiction books about the holocaust, students will attempt to answer the following questions: How did the Holocaust happen in the first place? How were the victims persecuted? What was the resistance to the Nazis during the holocaust? Why should we remember the holocaust? Who was responsible for the holocaust?

The theme of, "Misha, Memoires of the Holocaust Years." What I think the theme is just to find hope to find what cares most to you. Examples, she was leaving to find her parent and she left because her fake mother was going to turn her in to the Nazi's. She was living with wolves for 3 or 4 years. Almost captured by Nazi's because she had hope of finding that on thing she wanted most, her parents.

I think that the theme of the devils arithmetic is that you shuld nt take your famely for ganted and that even tho it is boring you should still put up with you family heritage.
i think that there are a lot of themes for this book i think that the main thing is to respect what is given to you
I think that the theme of the devils arithmitic is to never take things for granted like in the begining how she sees the numbers on her grandpas arm and she copyed him cause she thought that it would make him proud and then he freaked out about it, she dident like him for a really long time after that and then when she gets pulled back into the past she realizes why he got mad and dident hate him as much.
I think the theme of the story is that you shouldn't forget your heritage and what happened in the past. Because if you don't, then future catastrophies may occur. And, you should know and be proud of your heritage.
The devils arithmetic is about a girl, that does not respect her elders and she got sent back in time because she didnt know what it was like. When she went back in time she realized that all traditions have a meaning.
Trev, your just telling about the book, say what the theme is.

Trevor,
Please be specific about the context of the book. Your theme is fine, but the heritage and family issues should be specific from the book.
tanner i think that you are right i think that trevor needs to stop writing summary type of things
ok
i think that tanner needs to say more i do not understand what you are saying!!!
tanner i think that your first comment is bad i think that she never did know what it was like and that is why she gont sent back so that she could understand
yours was worse than mine, Penguin
cami i thought that you explained that part really good i think that you were clear and i thought that it was good
